About Katie's Kitchen and Lemon Myrtle
The Lemon Myrtle used in “Katie’s Kitchen” products is grown in the Northern Rivers area of New South Wales, Australia. The stands of Lemon Myrtle trees are at Monach Hill Farm, Tabulam in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.

The trees have a dense canopy of rich green foliage with pink/beige tips on the small new leaves. Summer time is beautiful with a riot of cream/white bunched flowers covering the trees, attracting birds & bees.
These Native Australian trees were planted 10 years ago and now after much loving care in a chemically-free environment are ready for harvesting.

The branches are pruned and hung to dry naturally. All the leaves are hand-picked and packed ready for distribution.
Organic Olive Oil is infused with Lemon Myrtle to produce our flavour enhancing oil. The production is carried out at The Upper Clarence and District Co-Op Tabulam.
You can, dependant upon your taste buds, alter the proportions of lemon myrtle used. Nearly all of the ingredients used have come fresh from my garden.
If you don’t have an herb & vegetable garden I’m sure you have your favourite greengrocer or the local farmers market, where fresh local produce is obtainable.
It is the ease of use and the fresh odours of the ingredients that make cooking fun, that stimulate one's appetite and therefore produce tempting creative dishes. Lemon Myrtle, although having a high percentage of citral (the chemical that produces the lemon scent and flavour), produces a soft lemon flavour, enhancing the flavours of your cooking rather than overpowering them.
There are some sample recipes available (taken from my book) to give you an idea of some of the many uses for our products, along with news and comments about what is happening at the farm and with our products.
